Hummingbirds especially love Canadian Milk Vetch, but they're willing to share with butterflies and bees too!

Bloom times range anywhere from May to July this perennial prefers full sun to partial shade. Canadian Milk Vetch can get 1 to 3 feet tall, but sometimes remain on the shorter side, making it perfect for residential landscapes. Works in mesic to wet soils.

How To Plant Canadian Milk Vetch Seeds:

Direct sow seeds into prepared soil in late fall once soil temps are below 50 degrees (usually mid to late November). Can also be planted in winter during natural freeze/thaw cycles and early spring. Plant shallow, no deeper than 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep and lightly rake to work seed in. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Can take 3 growing seasons to fully establish.
