Side-oats Grama is named for the way the flowers' seeds hang on one side of the culm or stem.
A short grass by prairie standards, it reaches generally heights of 1 to 3 feet.
Preference is for dry soils, as can handle seasonal moisture.
A great species to plant with Little Bluestem. Provides good habitat for game birds and other animals, often used by grazers.
