Winter Rye should be used as a nurse crop in the fall and dormant season. Winter Rye typically grows well in dry to mesic soil conditions. Typically will germinate at temperatures above 34 degrees Fahrenheit. We do not recommend over applying nurse crops as they can compete with native species if planted too dense.
Seeding Rate - 10 lbs. per acre (low) - 30 lbs. per acre (high)
