Brown Fox Sedge is commonly found in moist areas and fringes of wetlands.

It generally grows to 2 feet tall and is good for colonizing wetland sites.

Good for erosion control. Produces bristly seed heads that are attractive, green turning tan as the season progresses. Establishes readily from seed.

Found throughout the United States and Canada.

How To Plant Brown Fox Sedge Seeds:

Direct sow seeds into prepared soil in late fall once soil temps are below 50 degrees (usually mid to late November). Can also be planted in winter during natural freeze/thaw cycles and in early spring. Plant shallow, no deeper than 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep and lightly rake to work seed in. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Can take 3 growing seasons to fully establish.
