Hollow Joe Pye produces a flower that can be compared to a fluffy pink cloud. This mid season bloom is perfect for birds, bees and butterflies.

Since this perennial can reach heights anywhere from 5 to 7 feet, it works great in the backs of gardens and even does well in woodland edges. It does like to keep its "feet" wet and can easily spread. If needed, plants can be divided or thinned out in fall when they go dormant, or as they begin to appear in spring. Look for Hollow Joe Pye to bloom anywhere from July through September.

How To Plant Hollow Joe Pye Seeds:

Direct sow seeds into prepared soil in late fall once soil temps are below 50 degrees (usually mid to late November). Can also be planted in winter during natural freeze / thaw cycles and early spring. Plant shallow, no deeper than 1/8 to 1/4 inch and lightly rake to work seed in. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Can take 3 growing seasons to fully establish.
