Brown "wooly" bristles give this perennial grass its name. It forms clumps and reaches heights anywhere from 3 to 6 feet.
Woolgrass prefers moist soil and full sun. It will tolerate some standing water.
How To Plant Woolgrass Seeds:
Direct sow seeds into prepared soil in late fall once soil temps are below 50 degrees (usually mid to late November). Can also be planted in winter during natural freeze/thaw cycles and in early spring. Plant shallow, no deeper than 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep and lightly rake to work seed in. Plant in full sun. Can take 3 growing seasons to fully establish.
