Indian grass is a native perennial warm season bunch grass. It is one of the main constituents of the tall grass prairie, typically growing from 3 to 6  feet in height.

It is an excellent erosion control species due to a deep fibrous root system and is perfect for your native material landscape.

It prefers mesic soils and full sun.

Found from Arizona - Montana east to the east coast of the United States and north into Canada.
