April is Ohio Native Plant Month and also a great time of year to seed a native wildflower and grass garden. We designed this mix with the intention of making it colorful with lots of wildflowers, a few native grasses and keeping the height to about 3.5 - 4 feet tall once established. This mix grows best in full sun (at least 6 hours a day) and well-drained soils.
This ONPM Short Pollinator Garden Seed Mix is great for replacing sunny lawns in residential areas, next to community buildings or for schools because of the variety of colorful native plants and short height.

Some things to remember:
Native plant communities can take up to 3 growing seasons to fully establish. There are some annuals in this mix for first year color. They include: Partridge Pea, Indian Blanket, Plains Coreopsis and Lemon Mint. Consider planting our ONPM Fast Flowering Annual Cover Mix to act as a cover crop and provide some additional blooms the first growing season.
