Reaching finished heights of three to six feet, Purple Meadow Rue is identified by its purple stems and yellow flowers that bloom late spring into early summer.

An interesting plant to add to the wetter areas of your landscape, it can grow in partial shade (at least fours hours of sunlight a day) and would look really cool in the background of perennial gardens.

This species does require a cold, moist stratification and will fully establish from seed in two to three growing seasons.

What is Stratification?
