Sampson's Snakeroot is a member of the Bean family (Fabaceae) and produces blooms that range in blue-violet to white in color. Flowers bloom in an upright fashion typical for the Bean family. It's especially attractive to pollinators when in bloom.

This perennial reaches heights anywhere between 1 to 3 feet and blooms June through August. It prefers partial shade and drier soils.
